LET'S TALK ABOUT WEEK LONG GOALS.What's up, lads + ladies?! I hope your week is kicking off to a great start. After this fun-filled weekend, my week is definitely looking bright. Over the weekend, Chloe and our friends Erin + Austin joined me at Celtic Crossing to hang for a bit. Celtic Crossing is an Irish Pub + Restaurant in the Cooper-Young area that offers good brews + food. So when the people over at Celtic invited me plus my three guest to dine, I couldn't say no. THE FULL DEETS.Celtic Crossing is celebrating the Women's World Cup by showing all the games + even hosting a special menu that is only available thru July 7th. We went on Saturday to watch Canada take on New Zealand and to test how good this World Cup inspired menu is. Guys, this menu DID NOT disappoint at all. WHAT WE SCORED.So, we all started off with a round of drinks. Rum + cokes, lager beers, you know? The usual. After the first round, our good man at Celtic, Chris, told us about the beer bucket which comes with five high quality beers for only 23 dollars! We tried every brew there was to try on this menu, ultimately we decided the Schofferhofer, a German grapefruit beer was our table's favorite. We also really liked the 1664 (European Pale Lager) and the Asahi (Japanese Rice Lager). The food left us all stuffed with no complaints. The group of us all chose entrees from the World Cup Menu. A few of the options included shrimp beignets, chicken + chips, french toast, and more. If you truly know me, you know I am a chicken tender connoisseur. When I laid eyes on "beer battered chicken + chips" on the menu, I was sold. I recently visited London + became accustomed to English terms like "chips". So seeing the exquisite name choice made me feel like a royal eating a lovely meal (Okay, I'll stop). THE ATMOSPHERE OF CELTICI honestly am ashamed to say this was my first time at Celtic. I've been to the Cooper-Young area dozens of times, and never stepped in. This definitely won't be the last. The vibe of Celtic reminds me of a pub in Europe, where people go to meet new friends and network over good beer and games. It's extremely easy to feel at home here, especially with the warm-welcoming staff. I highly recommend adding this to your list of places to try in Memphis. The food. beverages, and service are real winners, like the Canada Women's team (3-0 BABY!!!), and the USA Women's Team(13-0)!!!
