It’s Wednesday!
Today is the third installment of my fall collaboration series with Bianca of Curvaceously Bee. Bianca and I are two fashion + lifestyle based content creators based in Memphis. Being two creators in Memphis who fit similar demographics, we thought it would be great to work together and show off what we have to offer to the communities we are apart of.
I always hear men and women of size say they can’t dress a certain way because of their body types. NOT TRUE! That’s where we come in. We are here to show you how to take it up a notch this fall. Today we’re focusing on how you can rock a plaid look.
Let’s talk about plaid.
Plaid is finally starting to get the recognition it deserves in the menswear community. Last year alone, I had a wave of plaid trousers and turtleneck outfits across my social media feeds. It got worn out pretty fast, but I was glad to see guys step it up a notch.
I decided that it was best to style these plaid pants I scored at Old Navy casually. Throwing this caramel colored hoodie on with this plaid brings out the subtle similar colors in the trousers. The light stitching in the denim jacket does the same. Ending the look with a clean white sneaker was a vibe for me! Rocking it.
So, thinking of how to nail a plaid look this season and not look like every other person on the ‘gram? Trade that turtleneck for a vintage band tee for a more edgy look. Pairing plaid trousers with a hoodie, denim jacket or both is a power move. Other items that pair well with plaid prints are bomber/Sherpa jackets, topcoats, sweatshirts and blazers.
